On September 13, the Office of IPE introduced over 800 level one (first-year) learners with BuckIPE Community Cares. Over 24 community partner organizations were in attendance. Interprofessional teams of students came together to engage in a fun and interactive experience that enabled students to meet and interact with their longitudinal team members, develop a greater understanding of the local community, and learn about and utilize tools and resources that positively impact challenges within our community. Students learned how community organizations serve our central Ohio neighbors, contributed to health and wellness, addressed social determinants of health, and how they could potentially get involved. Through these experiences, students learn and reflect on how interprofessional teams work together with community partners to advance health and wellbeing. We enjoyed this collaboration between learners, facilitators, and community partners and thank all who participated.
