We are pleased to share that the Interprofessional Community Scholars program welcomed nearly 100 learners from the Health Sciences Colleges, along with 16 Community Health Mentors, during the Summer Program.

The learners were paired with residents who serve as Community Health Mentors—people living in the community who are aging in place at home and who have one or more chronic health conditions—from the greater Columbus community through a partnership with the National Church Residences (NCR) to teach digital health literacy and work to improve overall health and wellbeing.

The IP Community Scholars Program reflects the BuckIPE Foundational Curriculum of providing experiential opportunities to equip learners with the core competencies of IPE. Students work in interprofessional teams with Community Health Mentors to improve digital health literacy and fill gaps in care and services. Learn more about the IP Community Scholars Program here.
