On September 6 and September 20, the Office of IPE welcomed back level two (second-year) learners with Teams Advancing Health Equity Team Event 1. At this event, students enhanced their understanding of the social determinants of health and/or health and healthcare inequities that impact patient/client lives and began to appreciate how interprofessional teamwork addresses these multi-faceted patient/client needs. In the team events, students looked at scenarios illustrating these concepts and interacted with a standardized person. Together, students collaborated to identify and address underlying factors that impact healthcare outcomes and patient experience positively. Students practiced providing peer feedback around select interprofessional collaborative practice competencies. We are proud of the progress of students in their interprofessional collaboration journey and thank all of the learners, facilitators, and standardized patients that made it possible.
