Nexus Summit 2024 & Call for Abstracts

The Nexus Summit is the annual convening hosted by the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, and co-hosted by the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative. The Summit is a forum for deep, rich learning opportunities, and a space for collaboration and community building.

The Nexus Summit 2024: Navigating Complexity to Advance Outcomes returns to an all-virtual format on the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education’s innovative More Than a MeetingTM platform, allowing for broad and accessible engagement of stakeholders in health. Save the dates for Nexus Summit 2024: September 25, 26, and 30, and October 1.

The Nexus Summit 2024 Call for Abstracts has been released, and includes six themes and four presentation formats that will maximize opportunities for our IPE community to showcase accomplishments, outcomes, and innovations.

Explore the Call for Abstracts themes and submission ideas here. The abstract submission deadline is May 24th, 2024, at 11:59pm ET.

Nexus Summit 2023 Seminar Showcase

We are pleased to announce that the Nexus Summit 2023 Seminar Showcase features nine of the highest-rated peer-reviewed seminars from the Nexus Summit 2023 and covers topics including artificial intelligence (AI), longitudinal assessment strategies, team well-being, health equity, multi-institutional models, and interprofessional advocacy, among others.

Offered from March to July 2024, the Nexus Summit 2023 Seminar Showcase will provide an opportunity to learn from, with, and about the work being done to improve practice, education, and health for those we serve. Learn more and register here.

University of Texas at Austin Train-the-Trainer

The University of Texas at Austin invites you to a specialized training experience that combines immersive learning, expert consultation, and dedicated time to guide your team's project development. This synchronous, virtual Zoom training will be held from May 13th through May 16th. All practitioners, educators, administrators, and other professionals involved in health, health care delivery, and/or health care education are welcome to attend.

Registration can be completed through the National Center website. Teams must consist of at least 3 people from at least 2 different professions. CLARION 2024 National Case Competition

Register now for the CLARION 2024 National Case Competition! The topic for this year's CLARION case competition is trust, communication, and equity in emergency response and preparedness.

The competition will give health professional students a chance to develop interprofessional relationships through an experiential learning opportunity, inspiring systems-level changes focused on achieving health for all.

2024 NAP Annual Meeting & Forum

The National Academies of Practice (NAP) is the alliance of healthcare professionals who are collaborating to transform health and wellbeing. We are dedicated to advancing health and wellbeing through patient-centeredness and inclusivity, which we believe are in the best interest of individuals and communities.

The National Academies of Practice 2024 Annual Meeting and Forum will occur at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront in Jacksonville, Florida - March 15-16. Our meeting title is Synergizing Strengths: Uniting Professions for Strategic Impact. Throughout the meeting, attendees will learn about, from, and with one another, hear from and network with exciting keynote plenary speakers, and participate in peer-reviewed professional development workshops, symposia, panel discussions, and poster sessions. The NAP Forum brings us together as a community and highlights exceptional work being done to advocate for and advance scholarship, practice transformation, innovation, and policy that enables interprofessional collaborative practice that transforms lives.

2024 Heartland Innovations in Interprofessional Practice and Education Summit

The HIIPE Summit is a platform designed to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange among professionals from diverse fields. This event focuses on advancing interprofessional learning through interactive workshops, presentations, and keynote discussions. By showcasing innovative research in education and practice, the conference aims to enhance teamwork, communication, and collaborative practice. It serves as a catalyst for the development of effective interprofessional education strategies, that lead to a more integrated and patient-centered approach to healthcare.

Submissions will be peer-reviewed for connections to:

  • Competencies in Interprofessional Learning 
  • AI and Technology in the Learning Environment 
  • Assessing the Impact of Innovative Learning Strategies 
  • Innovative Strategies for Clinical and Simulated Learning Environments

The abstracts deadline has been extended and will be accepted now through March 29, 2024. Notification of acceptance will be sent out by April 12, 2024.

Interprofessional Faculty Development Cohort VIII - A Microcredential

Completion of this Microcredential will demonstrate knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to facilitate the integration of IPE into health professions curricula. The program utilizes online, asynchronous and synchronous, learning methods. 

Participants will earn a Certificate of Recognition and Microcredential with completion of the following: 12 hours of online training (to include reading required texts), 10.5 hours of synchronous training via Zoom, and a team project. Zoom sessions take place 11:30am – 1:00pm CST on these Fridays in April and May:

  • Orientation: April 5th, 2024
  • Session 1: April 12th, 2024
  • Session 2: April 19th, 2024
  • Session 3: April 26th, 2024
  • Session 4: May 3rd, 2024
  • Session 5: May 10th, 2024

Collaborating Across Borders IX 2025

In May 2025, the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) and Creighton University will co-host Collaborating Across Borders (CAB) in Omaha, Nebraska. CAB is the premier North American conference focused on interprofessional education and collaborative healthcare. View more information here.

Creighton University Call for Papers

The Creighton Journal of Collaborative Practice & Education is seeking submissions for their interprofessional, interdisciplinary journal devoted to the advancement of collaborative health care practice and education. CJCPE welcomes submissions that improve the knowledge and understanding of how collaborative practice contributes to improvement of health care delivery, quality of care, access to care, intersections with the humanities, and improving the health care experience for individuals, families, communities, and practitioners.
