March Community of Practice - Veterinary Medicine in Holistic Care
On March 16, 2026, from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm, join Rustin Moore, DVM, PhD, Diplomate ACVS, Dean of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, for a session exploring the critical role of veterinary medicine within the interprofessional team.
In recent years, the human-animal bond has moved to the forefront of holistic health. As service and support animals become common fixtures in patient care, the need for deep collaboration between human and veterinary medical professionals has intensified. Dean Moore will discuss how the One Health initiative, a framework linking the health of people, animals, and the environment, parallels and enhances Interprofessional Education (IPE).
This session highlights how veterinary medicine is no longer an "outside" discipline but a vital partner in public health and patient well-being. By integrating these "unique suspects" into the healthcare team, we can achieve more comprehensive and empathetic care outcomes.
