Interprofessional Socialization and Valuing Scale (ISVS) – 9-item form (ISVS-9B)
Overview
The ISVS-9 is a brief self-report survey that captures preparedness for change towards interprofessional collaborative practice by measuring beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors about interprofessional collaborative team practice (King et al., 2016). It has two equivalent 9-item forms (ISVS-9A and ISVS-9B) designed for pre/post measurement of change following interprofessional education. In the BuckIPE Interprofessional Community Scholars Program, the ISVS-9B form is used. The survey measures beliefs, behaviors, and attitudes related to interprofessional socialization and collaborative practice—such as role awareness, comfort with teamwork, leadership and accountability, and valuing client involvement. Students complete 9 Likert-scale items plus a written reflection prompt, typically administered before and after an IPE experience to assess change. Results help students reflect on teamwork goals, while faculty and program leaders can evaluate program impact and track changes over time at the individual or cohort level.
